Knowsley Pride Workshop!

Join Me at Knowsley Pride for a Creative Banner Making Workshop!

I’m Excited to Host a Pride Banner Making Workshop at Knowsley Pride

I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be hosting a Pride Banner Making Workshop as part of the inaugural Knowsley Pride celebrations on Friday, August 2, 2024. This interactive and inclusive workshop invites participants of all ages to unleash their creativity and show their support for the LGBTQ+ community through vibrant and expressive banners and flags.

Workshop Details:

  • Event: Pride Banner Making Workshop

  • Date: Friday, August 2, 2024

  • Time: 10am – 3pm

  • Location: Court Hey Park, Roby Road, Huyton

  • Host: Sophie Green, Local Artist

What to Expect: My Pride Banner Making Workshop will be an afternoon of expression, colour, and joy. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own pride banners using large sheets of paper or fabric and come up with their own pride slogans. For our younger attendees, I will have pride-themed colouring sheets featuring different characters and symbols from the LGBTQ+ community.

The workshop is designed to be a drop-in event, allowing participants to join in at any time during the day. All the artwork created will be displayed and photographed, forming a beautiful gallery for everyone to enjoy.

About Knowsley Pride: Knowsley Pride is set to be an unforgettable day of celebration and awareness for residents, families, local organizations, and the LGBTQ+ community. Organized by One Knowsley in collaboration with the newly formed Knowsley Pride Steering Group and funded by The Michael Causer Foundation, this event promises a variety of performances and activities for all ages.

Highlights of the event include:

  • Hosting by Liverpool’s #1 caberet queen, Filla Crack

  • Storytelling sessions with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK alumni, Sister Sister

  • Dance workshops and performances by the House of Suarez

  • A silent rave for children, produced by a recipient of Knowsley Pride’s small grants programme

The day will conclude with the 16th annual vigil for Michael Causer, an openly gay teenager whose tragic death in 2008 inspired the revival of Liverpool Pride. This vigil will honor Michael’s memory and his impact on the LGBTQ+ community.

Join Us: I invite everyone to join us at Knowsley Pride and be part of this historic event. Celebrate acceptance, creativity, and community spirit with us on August 2, 2024, at Court Hey Park. Let’s come together to promote inclusivity and equality while having a fantastic time creating art and enjoying the festivities.
