Sophie Green "Green Pieces" Solo Exhibition 27th July to 4th September

“Green Pieces ” A New Exhibition by Sophie Green

Exhibition: 27th July - 4th September 2009.

Dot-art is pleased to announce a summer exhibition featuring new work by local artist Sophie Green. Sophie produces vivid, engaging and accessible artwork using broad striking paint strokes and a lively, illustrative style.

Sophie made the move to Liverpool at the beginning of 2008 and immersed herself in the vibrancy of the city during it's Capital of Culture year. She studied art at Leicester De Montfort University before gaining a degree in Graphic Design at Derby University. She currently works as a freelance artist, illustrator and designer from her studio in Liverpool City Centre.

Sophie has this to say about her work:

"My work is influenced by many things; bright colour, shapes and nature. This new work reflects my background in Graphic Design, my love of illustration and my current obsession with cats, which cannot be avoided! Living and working in Liverpool has been a great inspiration for my work; there's never a dull moment living in this city!"

Lucy Byrne of dot-art said:

“For our summer show we wanted to demonstrate the fun and accessible side of art, so working with Sophie was the ideal solution. Her vibrant, playful and distinctive works have a real sense of joy and fantastic use of colour. The series of SuperLambanana paintings have a particular place in my heart!”

All work is for sale.

The exhibition is open to the public at dot-art, 16 Queen Avenue, Castle Street, 12-6pm Monday – Friday and by appointment, from Monday 27th July to Friday 4th September.
